Counsell, Victor H. (17 October 1900 - 23 August 1968)

Victor H. Counsell, 67, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, died August 23 in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Monday from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. D. Eugene Sprague of the Assembly of God Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Victor H. Counsell was born October 17, 1900 in Neillsville. He attended Neillsville School. His parents were the late Oscar E. and Minnie (Heaslet) Counsell. Mr. Counsell farmed in his younger years and later had a log and pulp business. He operated a lumber yard in Augusta for five years. He was active until May of this year. He was married June 24, 1914, in Greenwood to the former Mary Botnen.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John (Ardith) Christie of Anoka, Minn., and Mrs. John (Margery) Hanson of Rt. 2 Neillsville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Lawrence Hrach, Herman Moen, Earl Hanson, Frank Kreckler, Elmer Steltenpohl and Ted Dux. Mrs. James A. Musil was the organist.

People from out of town here for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. John Christie and family of Anoka, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wendt of Mrs. Melvin Holman of Humbird; Mrs. Merlyn Schoengarth of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Horn of Alma Center; Mrs. Ina Graham of Robinsdale, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Frelty of Pekin, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs. John Hanson of Elliott, Ill.
