Washburn Center (10 JUN 1915)

Fine little shower Saturday night.

There were not many people left in Shortville and Cannonville Saturday, for from appearance they were all at the big picnic on the Ridge, which was a grand success.

Rudolph Frantz lost a cow last week. The animal caught her head between two logs and in trying to free herself, broke her neck.

George Bue’s foot is getting better.

One of Arthur Short’s work horses died last week, which is a big loss to Arthur just in the busy season.

Walter Bell’s new barn is nearing completion. Then we will all have a chance to shake our big feet.

Albert Moldenhauer and J.A. Short were Granton callers Friday afternoon.

The Ladies Aid meets this week Thursday at Andrew Short’s.

John Van Fleet worked for Arthur Short several days the past week.

J.A. Short and family spent Sunday at the home of his parents. In the afternoon Geo. Cramer and wife and her mother gave them an auto ride to Granton and back in their new car.

M.C. Thomas and wife spent Sunday at the Magadanz home.

Mrs. J.A. Short and children spent Thursday at Walter Bell’s.
