Pierce, Alta (4 OCT 1975)

Alta Pierce, daughter off Mrs. Frank Pierce and the late Mr. Pierce, Waubay, South Dakota, became the bride of Pastor Dennis Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Thomas, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on October 4, 1975. The 2:00 wedding took place at the Waubay Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, with Rev. Leon Jensen of Aberdeen officiating.

The bride was attired in an old fashioned silhouette, in a gown of white cotton bonded lace, fashioned with high stand-up collard, leg of mutton sleeves, a high waist with tie belt in the back. The bodice featured a bib inset with lace ruffle. A ruffled flounce bordered the hemline. She wore a wide brimmed picture hat and carried yellow native rose on a lace covered Bible. Her only jewelry was a necklace, a gift from the groom. Her personal attendant was Sue Zimmerman.

The bride was attended by her sister, Sherrie Pierce, as maid of honor, and Brenda Jens as bridesmaid. They wore matching gowns of orange and turquoise, respectively, fashioned in princess line similar to the bride's. Their headpieces were of bows and veils, matching their gowns. The flower girl was Shelly Pierce, who wore a white dotted Swiss dress in a style similar to the bride's, and carried a basket of flowers.

The groom was attended by his brothers, LeRoy Thomas as best man, and Everett Thomas as groomsman. Daniel Pitzl was the ring bearer. Ushers were Leon Pierce and Richard Thomas, brothers of the couple.

Pianist for the processional and recessional was Mrs. Dale Hofer; she also accompanied a trio composed of Sandra and Joni Robish and Ranae Hofer of Huron, South Dakota, as they sang.

The bride is a graduate of Waubay High School and also attended St. Paul Bible College. The groom is a graduate of the St. Paul Bible College and is presently Pastor of the Waubay Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. After a wedding trip to Webster, South Dakota and Nebraska, the young couple will be at home at the C & M A Parsonage in Waubay.
