Young, Alan E. Sr. (18 September 1937 – 4 October 2008) With Flag

Alan E. Young, Sr., 71, of Kenosha passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Kenosha Medical Center.

Born in Eau Claire County, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearl (Eddington) Young. He was educated in the schools of Alma Center and moved to Kenosha in 1960, where he has resided since.

He served in the United States Navy, entering the service in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1958.

He married Elaine Marvin May 14, 1960, in Merrillan.

He was employed with American Motors/Chrysler for 34 years, retiring in 1994.

Alan was a former member of UAW Local 72 and the Ke-Nash-A Club. He was an avid race fan, especially NASCAR, and enjoyed traveling with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Kenosha; two sons, Alan E. (Jean) Young, Jr. of Jefferson and Jay (Sue) Young of Kenosha; and four grandchildren, Cody, Joseph, Ryan and Ashlee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Proko Funeral Home, 5111 – 60th St. Kenosha, WI 53144 at noon. Interment follows at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors.

Visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
