Clouse, John “Jack” Charles (31 October 1931 – 25 August 2009)

 

John “Jack” C. Clouse, 77, of N12649 Old Highway 27, Osseo, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, following a sudden illness.

 

John Charles, son of Louis and Estella (Lindle) Clouse, was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Auburndale.  He attended school in Auburndale until his freshmen year, when his family moved to Taylor, where he graduated from high school. While in school, he was very active with the area 4-H club showing registered Holstein cattle.

 

John was united in marriage to Darlene Olson on Sept. 25, 1953, at North Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick.  The couple farmed in Taylor, moved to Augusta in 1973, moved to Greenwood in 1975, and eventually moved to rural Osseo in the late 1990s.

 

In addition to farming most of his life, John hauled bulk milk for Stewart Redville Dairy out of Greenwood.  He had been a member of the Greenwood Lions Club, Registered Holstein Association, and instrumental with the Taylor Old Fashion Days Tractor Pull. Through the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and rebuilding tractors.

 

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of rural Osseo; three sons, John Clouse of Mondovi, Robert Clouse and special friend Julie of rural Osseo, Tom Clouse of Black River Falls; two daughters, Julie (Mark) Djubenski of Abbottsford, Linda (Rocky) Susa of Greenwood; son-in-law, Mickey Klatt of Augusta; four sisters, LaVerne Vollert of Vesper, Geraldine Sabo of Wisconsin Rapids, Marlene (Val) Zimmerman of Rockford, MN, Audrey (George) Skibbie of Rib Lake; 11 grandchildren, Brad (Yaim) Klatt, Randy Klatt, Jessica (Joe) Fabberi, Kristie Klatt and fiancé Jason Gaier, Dakota, LeAnn and Abigail Clouse, Amber, Ryan and Wyatt Clouse, Steven, Joshua and Allison Susa, Angi Djubenski; two great-grandsons, Gabriel and Kadien Klatt. 

 

He was preceded in death by daughters Deborah Clouse, in 1968 and Barbara Klatt in 2003.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osseo.  Intern Pastor Amanda Kossow officiated.

 

Burial will be at a later date in Taylor Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Taylor.
