Stenroos, Sherry L. (17 January 1953 – 29 June 2009)

 

Sherry L. (Cogger) Stenroos, 56, of Hixton passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

 

She was born Jan. 17, 1953, to Ellsworth and Elaine (Jaksch) Cogger in Kellogg, ID.

 

Sherry grew up in Hibbing, MN and graduated from Hibbing High School.  She had worked at Minnetac on the Iron Range in Minnesota. Sherry also worked at KFC and Hillcrest Terrace, both in Hibbing, MN. She also had been employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart.

 

She was united in marriage July 27, 1979, to Lon Stenroos in Hibbing, MN.  They had moved to Colorado for a short period of time before moving back to Minnesota.  In 2004 they moved to Hixton. 

 

Sherry enjoyed doing home interior work, collecting Barbies™, caring for animals, wild or domestic, and playing games.  She loved to spend time with family and friends. Sherry had a special passion for Christmas. She was a giver, enjoyed cooking and baking, and spending time at their home in Hixton.

 

She is survived by her husband, Lon; daughter, Ginny R. (Quentin Winneshiek) Stenroos; son, Cody W. (TokeAnna Heller) Stenroos; granddaughter, Melissa; mother, Elaine (Gordon) Bjellos of Hixton; brother, Bobby (Mel) Cogger of Hibbing, MN; sister-in-law, Terry (Mike) Novak of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law, Tim (Kelly) Stenroos of Daytona Beach, FL; mother-in-law, Marge Mac Gregor of Chisholm, MN; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Ellsworth; grandparents, Robert and Marcella Jaksch; and brother-in-law, Greg Stenroos.

 

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 2, 2009, 7 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Rev. Randy Williamson officiated. Family and friends were invited for visitation Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

 

Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
