Rumpel, Monica (28 April 1913 – 3 June 2009)

 

Monica Rumpel, 96, of Arcadia died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Nursing Home in Arcadia.

 

She was born April 28, 1913, in the Town of Arcadia to Anton and Elizabeth (Sobotta) Soppa.  Monica married Raymond Rumpel and together they farmed.

 

She is survived by three sons, Richard (Julie) Rumpel of Waukesha, Anthony (Demaris) Rumpel of Lubbock, TX, and William (Nancy) Rumpel of Mehlingen, Germany; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clarice (Glen) Bawek and Martha (Clem) Pronschinske, both of Arcadia, and Theresa James of Alabama; and two brothers, Richard Soppa of Rockford, IL, and Lawrence Soppa of Hawaii.

 

Preceding Monica in death were her parents; husband; three sisters: Sister Miranda Soppa, Sister Elise Soppa and Gertrude; and three brothers, Marcel, Michael and Fredrick Soppa.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Holy Family Parish, Arcadia, with Fr. Michael Klos officiating.  Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Arcadia.

 

Friends called from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there was a 7 p.m. prayer service.  Friends also called from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
