Kunzelman, George Charles (18 April 1920 – 6 January 2002) With Flag

George Charles Kunzelman died unexpectedly at his home in Silver City on Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2002.

Mr. Kunzelman was born on April 18, 1920, the son of Roy and Ella Kunzelman of Alma Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Morgan Kunzelman, and his brother, Ernest Kunzelman. He is survived by his son, Fred C. Kunzelman of Fairmont, West Virginia, and two grandchildren, Sandy Scott Kunzelman and Tracy Anne Kunzelman; his sister, Mrs. Evelyn Borchardt, Lombard, Illinois; eight nieces and nephews and his long-time friend and business partner, Calvin Watkins. Mr. Kunzelman and Mr. Watkins have owned and operated Western Palms Mobile Estates in Silver City for many years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a school teacher and administrator. He was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Silver City.

A memorial service for Mr. Kunzelman was held on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 2501 Swan, Silver City, with Pastor Pellegrino officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Building Fund of the Messiah Lutheran Church at the address show above. Interment was in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
