Leek, Paul A. (9 September 1940 – 1 January 2009)

Paul A. Leek, 68, of Hixton passed away peacefully at his home Jan. 1, 2009, following a brief struggle with cancer.

Paul was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Aurora, IL, to Luther and Marion (Yakes) Leek.

He married Cheryl Nelson Oct. 15, 1962, in Whitehall, and they later divorced.

Paul and Cheryl raised their family in Eau Claire where Paul worked as a projectionist at the Grangs Theaters and at WEAU-TV as film director. He was a member of the IATSE Projectionists Union in Eau Claire.

In 1989, Paul moved to Florida and this past June, he moved back to Wisconsin to work on his new home in Hixton.

Paul is survived by four sons, Jeffrey (Judy) Leek of Hixton, Jordan Leek of Eau Claire, Jason Leek of Blair and Jamie Leek of Eau Clarie; four brothers, Ronald Leek of Byron, IL, Dennis Leek of New Port Richey, FL, Gary Leek of Belvidere, IL, and Thomas Leek of New Port Richey, FL; one sister, Judith Marum of Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Griffin and Jerrel, Giordan and Lance Leek; besides other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his special friend, Ellen May, in Florida.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Janalyn.

A private family memorial service for Paul A. Leek will be held at a later date.

The Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, is assisting the family.
