Bruchert, Martena T. (4 DEC 1887 – 14 OCT 1974)
Funeral services will be held at one o’clock today, Thursday, October 17,
1974 at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church for one of Owen’s (Clark Co., Wis.)
pioneer residents, Mrs. Martena T. Bruchert, who has resided here since
1901.
Father Alexander Fraser will officiate, and burial will be made at Riverside
Cemetery, Withee.
Mrs. Bruchert passed away shortly after 8 o’clock Monday morning at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been hospitalized for the past
10 days.
She was 86 years of age, being born December 4, 1877 in Denver, Colorado.
The former Martena T. Andersen was united in marriage June 21, 1911 to the
late Benhardt Bruchert, who preceded her in death February 16, 1972, in a
ceremony performed in Owen. Prior to her marriage she had come to Owen in
1901, where she attended the Owen school system, and later became an
employee of the John S. Owen Lumber Company and the A.R. Owen family.
She was a member of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church and it Guild.
Her passing is mourned by a daughter, Mrs. Royale bacon of Monroe, and three
sisters, Mrs. Ellen Ferguson, Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Rands Red Lodge, Montana,
and Miss Goldie Busko, Los Angeles, California.
Friends may call at the Kraut Maurina Funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday,
October 16.
