Becker, Margaret (4 Dec. 1916 - 1 Jan. 2009)

Margaret Becker, 92, of Marshfield died Thur., Jan. 1, 2009, at her home under the care of her personal caregivers and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 pm Mon., Jan. 5, 2009, at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel. Suzanne Golden will be the organist along with Saint John's Church Funeral Choir.  Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as the pallbearers.

Visitations will be Mon. from 12:30 pm until the time of services at the church. Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Margaret was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Athens to Max and Margaret (Brunkella) Berghamer. She was united in marriage to William L. Becker Sr. on Aug. 22, 1938, at Saint John's Catholic Church. Bill died April 7, 1987.

She was retired from various businesses in Marshfield and volunteered at Saint John's Church and Saint Joseph's Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, golfing and square dancing. Margaret will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, Patrick (Fay) Becker of Marshfield; Peggy Hardinger of Holcombe; Dick (Judi) Becker of Holcombe; Judy (Jim) Bushman of Marshfield; William (Denise Bessa) Becker of Auburndale; Jane (Tom) Hakl of Watertown and Susan (Dan) Poole of Rosemont, MN; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Norman Berghamer, of Hemet, CA; sister Patti (John) Christian of Superior and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Tony) Leggio of Hudson, FL.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gerry Hardinger, brother, Robert Berghamer and two sisters, Lillian Riedel and Sister Mary Andrew, SSND (School Sisters of Notre Dame).
