Schneider, Peter J. (19 Feb. 1922 - 17 Nov. 2008)

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Peter J. Schneider, 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, died on Mon., Nov. 17, 2008, at the Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Peter J. Schneider, 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Marshfield, died Mon., Nov. 17, 2008, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Nov. 21, 2008, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Thur. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI), Marshfield, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Fri. at the church.

He was born Feb. 19, 1922, in the town of Auburndale to Edward and Mary (Ertl) Schneider. He married Johanna "Joann" Schaefer on June 17, 1953, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville.

Pete had been employed at Morning Glory Farms, now known as Foremost Farms, until his retirement. While working, he also had farmed in the town of Marshfield.

He is survived by his wife, Joann of Wisconsin Rapids; and their children, Donna (Norbert) Falish, Hallsville, Texas, Darrell Schneider, Marshfield, Darlene (David) Boehm, Wausau, and Darrin (Terra) Schneider, Wisconsin Rapids. He is also survived by four grandchildren. He is further survived by four brothers and four sisters, Joe (Lucille) Schneider, Arthur Schneider and Bernie Schneider, all of Marshfield, Leo Schneider, Auburndale, Mary Burkhardt, Stevens Point, Agnes (Clarence) Stini, Celia (Donald) Wolf, and Anna (Chester) Lapinski, all of Marshfield.
