Bortz, Duane A. (16 Nov. 1959 - 6 Aug. 2008)

Duane A. Bortz, 48, of Butternut, passed away on August 4, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield after a six-year battle with a rare tumor disorder.

He was born on November 16, 1959 in Park Falls, the son of Carl and Caroline (Pritzl) Bortz. He was a lifelong resident of Butternut. On May 31, 1996, he married Michelle Kresen. He worked at the Flambeau Paper Mill in Park Falls for 23 years. His life’s passion was farming. He owned a beef farm in Butternut until the time of his death. He was a member of the Butternut School Board for a number of years and was an elder at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut.
