On June 4, 1938, she married Russell Oettiker, DVM. Together they raised three children and ran a successful veterinary practice in Marshfield. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1988 with many friends and family.

Millie was active in the community and church, and volunteered as a poll taker for many years. She was a 66-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a founding member of the Shrine Women's Auxiliary in Marshfield. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crafts and gardening and collecting recipes. Millie and "Doc" enjoyed many hours playing cards and snowmobiling with their friends and family. Their favorite get-away was their cottage in Phillips.

Mildred is lovingly survived by three sons: Russell (JoAnne) of Twin Lakes, James (June McHone) of Granton, and Thomas (Linda Weiher) Oettiker of Marshfield, seven grandchildren: Wendi Jo (Randy) Lee, Michael Oettiker, Christopher Oettiker, Penny (Josh) McQuality, Anna (Jerry) Hamilton, Joshua (Elizabeth) Oettiker, Ryan (Angela) Oettiker, and six great-grandchildren: Jackson and Jameson Lee, Madeline Oettiker, Madison McQuality, Jeremiah and Isaiah Hamilton.

She was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1996, her parents, two brothers and one great-grandson, Samuel Oettiker.
