Richard D. Hanneman, 79, of Marshfield died Sun. Feb. 8, 2009, at his home.

Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Richard D. Hanneman, 79, of Marshfield died Sun. at his home.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thur. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) with a private family prayer service to follow. He will be entombed in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield.

Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Richard was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Wausau to Wilbert and Irma (Pagel) Hanneman.

He was united in marriage to Leonor A. Nikolai on June 13, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. They were later divorced.

Richard was instrumental in organizing amateur radio club in Marshfield and presently the editor of Polka Potpourri on Public Access Television. He was employed at Weyerhaeuser Company as a maintenance supervisor for more than 25 years. After his retirement, he worked seasonally at Figi's.

Richard enjoyed taking Dolores Polege dancing on weekends in central Wisconsin.

He is survived by a son, Ronald Hanneman, and two daughters, Virginia and Kathleen Hanneman, all of Marshfield; and a sister, Lynn Zarnke of Mountain Home, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
