Warga, Donald Joseph (6 Sept. 1938 - 13 Dec. 2007)

Donald Joseph Warga, 69, Phillips, died in the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield on Thur., December 13.

He was born in Phillips on September 6, 1938, the son of Anne (Pospisil) and George Warga. He was a 1956 graduate of Phillips High School, and attended Stout University in Menominee. He was married to Barbara “Babs” Rehak in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Phillips on July 19, 1958. He served his country in the Wisconsin National Guard. He had owned and operated Phillips Ford for the past 33 years. He attended St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church and was a member of the Phillips Lions Club, a charter member of the Phillips Chaparrals Snowmobile Club, a member of the Phillips Chamber of Commerce and of the Ford Dealers Association. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, collecting toys and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Babs; two daughters, Traci (Jeff) Dunbar and Julie (Larry) Baratka, both of Phillips; four grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey, Lacy and Brandon; his mother, Anne Warga of Phillips, and one sister, Delores Warga-Janssen of Marshfield. He was preceded in death by his father, George, and one infant sister, Susan.

Memorial services are pending for a later date.

The family suggests that memorials take the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge of Marshfield, or the charity of your choice.

The Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips is assisting the family with arrangements.
