Molepske, Irene K. (18 Sept. 1916 - 28 Feb. 2009)

Irene K. Molepske of Wisconsin Rapids, died Sat. Feb. 28, 2009, at Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tues. at the Ritchay Funeral Home, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wed. at the church. There will be a parish prayer service held at 7 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.

Irene K. Molepske, 92, of Wisconsin Rapids died Sat. Feb. 28, 2009, at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wed. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Welles will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tues. and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wed. at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.

Irene was born Sept. 18, 1916, in Gilman to John and Catherine (Swenton) Kozlowski. She married Stanley Molepske on July 19, 1936, in Thorp. He died April 23, 1999. Irene was a homemaker.

Irene was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, the Catholic Daughters of America the Catholic Order of Foresters, performed 35 years of volunteer work at both the Veterans Home in King and Veterans Home in Tomah, worked with Special Olympics and many charitable organizations. She also volunteered at Family Heritage Nursing Home, was a den mother of Boy Scouts and member of their Board of Directors and was a parent volunteer of the Wisconsin Rapids Drum and Bugle Corps and the Wisconsin Royal Guard.

Irene is survived by four sons, Richard (Kimberly) Molepske of Manitowoc, Robert (Sylvia) Molepske of McLean, Va., Douglas (Janyce) Molepske of Plano, Texas and Donald (Patricia) Molespke of Oregon, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley, two brothers, Wallace and William Kozlowski, and one sister, Josephine Meach.

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is handling all arrangements.
