Alexander, Robert Lee (11 Jan. 1954 - 12 Oct. 2003)

PHILLIPS -- Robert Lee “Roper” Alexander, 49, Phillips, passed away on Sun. Oct. 12, 2003, in Phillips.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1954, in Marshfield, the son of James Ray and Margie Lou (Page) Alexander. He and his family moved to the Phillips area when he was a child. He attended and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1972. Following graduation he made his home in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Alaska. He was employed during the summer months in Alaska as hunting and fishing guide. He then returned in the fall to Colorado and Arizona where he was a River and Jeep Tour guide. He was also active and involved in the Rodeo Circuit from Texas and Canada. He returned to the Phillips area in 1994. Since that time he has been employed as a carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycling, boating and spending time with friends.

He is survived by his soul mate, and fiance, Janet Krucky, Phillips, one brother, John J. (Shelley), Coco Beach, Fla., and one sister, Rae Ann, state of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James, and one sister, Modena. Cremation has taken place.

A time of remembrance and “Happy Hour” is being planned for Mon., Oct. 20, from 4-7 p.m., at the Stonecroft Inn in Phillips.

The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
