Diede, William (24 June 1912 - 12 Jan. 2004)

William “Bill” Diede, 91, of 601 S. Cedar Ave., formerly of Luck, died Jan, 12, 2004, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home.

Services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 16, 2004, at the Evangelical Free Church in Frederic. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Luck in the spring.

Bill was born June 24, 1912, north of McClusky, N.D., to Gottlieb and Pauline (Anders) Diede. He was married to Clara Bille on Jan. 3, 1938. He operated farms in the Prophet Mountains and the area around Mercer, N.D., and Luck. He also started a beef operation at Luck raising registered polled Herefords as breeding stock. He worked at the Duncan Yo-Yo factory and Benner Lumber, both at Luck.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Diede; daughter, Midge (Wallace) Anderson of Marshfield; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his sister, Martha Thompson of Mercer, N.D.
