Weinfurtner, Mary H. (30 Apr. 1948 - 29 Dec. 1992)

Services for Mary H. “Bongo” Weinfurtner, 44, Eau Claire, a former Marshfield resident, who died at 1:03 a.m. Tues. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thur. at St. John’s Catholic Church.

The Rev. Leonard G. Kaiser will officiate. Music will be provided by Mrs. Helen Brinkmann, organist, and St. John’s Church Funeral Choir.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert P. Christensen, Dennis Brill, Patrick Willis, James Mars, Chris Mars, Robert Cook, William Stanton and Thomas Hildebrandt.

Visitation will be at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel at 4 p.m. today and again Thur. until service time. A parish prayer service will be at 7:30 tonight at the funeral chapel.

She was born April 30, 1948, in Marshfield, to Reuben E. “Pete” and Patricia L. (Morrison) Weinfurtner. She attended St. John’s Parochial School and was a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School. She never married.

After her education, she was employed by various businesses in Marshfield. She later purchased, owned and operated the Chili Corner Club in the town of Fremont, Clark County, until 1979. At that time she moved to Eau Claire for employment. She was injured in an automobile accident in 1979 and, after hospitalization, continued to reside in Eau Claire. She then became active in stock car racing promotion with the racing circuit in the Midwestern states until the time of her death. She had been admitted to the hospital Thur..

Survivors include her mother of Marshfield; four brothers, Jerold Weinfurtner of Denver, Colo., Harold “Butch” and Peter Weinfurtner, both of Marshfield, and Thomas Weinfurtner of Mosinee; and three sisters, Mrs. Norberto (Charlotte) Sugayan of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Jerry (Judi) Kampin of Chili and Deborah Weinfurtner of Eau Claire.

She was predeceased by her father on May 16, 1984, and by a god-child, Travis Weinfurtner.
