Bymers, Robert H. (15 July 1926 - 18 May 1989)

REEDSBURG - Robert H. Bymers, 62, Reedsburg, died Thur. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. June 4, at United Methodist Church, Reedsburg.

The Hammer-Hoof Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is handling arrangements.

He was born July 15, 1926, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, to William and Lydia (Bassuener) Bymers of Milladore. He attended the Clovernook School near Auburndale.

He married Barbara Schribner of Bangor, Maine, on Sept. 1, 1950, in Arpin. She died July 17, 1988.

He became involved in the dairy business early in life, as his parents owned the North County Line Cheese Factory and later the Town Line Dairy. In the late 1930s, his family built the Arpin Dairy, and he worked there for several years before starting his own trucking business. He later went back into the dairy business and worked for Perkins and Hub Dairy in Marshfield. In 1963, he began working for Wisconsin Dairies and was later responsible for cream procurement and was the company’s safety director. He retired in 1987 after 23 years, and continued to reside in Reedsburg.

He is survived by one son, Gary, of Madison; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Bonnie) Statz of Sturgeon Bay; one brother, Edward Bymers of Marshfield; and one sister, Elizabeth Regan of Wautoma.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marshfield Clinic Foundation for Medical Research and Education.
