Dad was our strong but gentle go-to guy who was always there for everyone. He loved nothing better than to spend time with his family, especially when good food was involved. He was proud of the home and yard that he and Mom worked so hard to maintain and even the smallest compliment brought a smile to his face. In nice weather he enjoyed traveling around the neighborhood on the scooter with his dog Mitzi in the basket, talking with anyone he ran in to and "supervising" any project. His ready smile and big laugh were contagious. He was a special man with a huge heart that we respect and love so much. You are irreplaceable Dad and we will all miss you forever.

Dale is survived by his wife, Betty; three children, Jean (George) Mathews of Wisconsin Rapids, Linda (Daniel) Thomas of Nekoosa, and Dale (Joan) Jirschele Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren, Paul (Ramona) Mathews, Erin (Eric) Petzold, Amie (special friend Patrick) Van Asten, Jennifer (Aaron) Dunn, Andrew (Angela) Van Asten, and Marlee Jirschele; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ian, Aiden, Avery, Taylor, Brenna and Megan; three brothers, William Jirschele of Wisconsin Rapids, Neil (Pat) Jirschele of Marshfield, and John (Dottie) Jirschele of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Joann (Tim) Hanson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Esther (Galen) Reinhart of Tomahawk.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is handling all arrangements.

"Take his hand, he leads you to salvation. Take our love, for love is everlasting. And remember, the truth that once was spoken -- to love another person is to see the face of God."
