WISCONSIN RAPIDS - A 37-year-old Wood County woman died from smoke inhalation at the Burn Center in Milwaukee Wed. as a result of a house fire April 27, according to Wood County Coroner Garry Kronstedt.
Ruth Ellis called firefighters to her home at 9039 County Trunk F in the Town of Sherry at 1:48 a.m.
Officials found her unconscious in her bedroom and transported her by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Ellis was later airlifted to the Burn Center.
