Gebelein, William Mrs. (25 Apr. 1868 - 22 Apr. 1935)

Auburndale - (Special) - Funeral services for Mrs. William Gebelein, pioneer resident of the town of Day, who died at 1:15 a.m. April 22, at her home, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wed. at the residence.

Internment was made in the town of Day cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were five grandsons and one nephew, Theodore and Philip Offer, Louis Jr., Charles, and Henry Ress, and Frank Striegel. Three granddaughters, Misses Helen Michels, Lauretta Offer, and Rose Ress, were in charge of floral tributes.

Mrs. Gebelein was born in Appleton, April 25, 1868. When she was 9 years old she came with her parents to a farm near Rozellville. Her marriage to William Gebelein took place on June 16, 1883.

She is survived by her husband and the following children; Mrs. Henry Offer, Mrs. Louis Ress, Henry, Louis, and Matt, all of the town of Day; Mrs. John Michels, Andrew, and Mrs. Hollas Babcock, town of Green Valley; and Joseph, town of Milladore.

Surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. August Petri and Mrs. Rudolph Oertel, town of Green Valley, Simon Striegel, town of Emmet; and Joseph Striegel, town of Green Valley.

There are 50 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A son, William Jr., was killed in action during the World war.
