Juedes, Raymond W. (September 25, 1921 - June 14, 2011)

 

Raymond W. Juedes, age 89, of Colby, passed away on Tuesday, June 14 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17 at Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Colby. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby.


Raymond was born on September 25, 1921 to Bernhard A. and Edna B. (Kalepp) Juedes in the Township of Deer Creek.

 

He attended Kreie Grade School in the Town of Deer Creek near Stetsonville. Raymond was joined in marriage to Mildred Apfelbeck on June 8, 1948 at St. Mary's Church in Colby.

Raymond and Mildred owned a farm in the Township of Deer Creek. Upon retiring, Raymond and Mildred moved to Colby. Raymond worked at Colby High School as a custodian.


He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, woodworking, watching baseball, tending to plants, helping as a foster grandparent and attending tractor shows. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.


Raymond is loving survived by his wife, Mildred; his children, Ronald (Roberta) Juedes of Medford, Sally (Jim) Weinfurter of Pittsville, Roger (Rita) Juedes of Stetsonville, Robert Juedes of Eau Claire, Susan Juedes of New Hope, Minn., Russell (Sharon) Juedes of Stetsonville, Marlene (William) Juedes of Salem, Mass., Patsy (Brian) Juedes-Fulk of Scottsbluff, Neb., Richard (Karen) Juedes of Wausau and Margaret Juedes of Bloomington, Minn.

 

Raymond is further survived by 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Elaine (Donald) Tessmer of Dorchester; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Juedes of Dorchester and Audrey Juedes of Abbotsford.


Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Melvin Juedes and Donald Juedes.
