Biographical Sketch of T. B. McCourt.

T. B. McCOURT, hardware, Medford, was born in Buffalo, Erie Co., N. Y., Feb. 21, 1848 At six years of age he came with his parents to Oshkosh, Wis., where he received his education. In the Spring of 1876 he came to Medford and opened his hardware store. At first was the only one interested in the business, but the firm now is T. B. McCourt & Bros. They carry a stock of $3,500, and do a business of $15,000 per annum. In 1869 he married Miss Frances J. Tarbell, of Weyauwega. They have three children—John, Genevieve and Paul R. Mr. McCourt held the office of Chairman of Town and County Board in 1877 and 1878; was Deputy Clerk of the Court from 1878 to the next January of 1882, and is the County Judge for Taylor County in 1882 and. 1883. He opened the first business house on the west side of town. He is master of the A.O. U. W. and treasurer of the Temple of Honor; also a member of the Catholic Church.
