Gerstberger, Glendon "Sonny" Edward (September 17, 1928 - October 11, 2010)

Glendon "Sonny" Edward Gerstberger, 82, Rib Lake, died Monday, Oct. 11 at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.


Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.


Glendon Gerstberger was born on September 17, 1928 on the Gerstberger Homestead to the late Ernst and Gertrude (Thone) Gerstberger. He attended Fawn Valley Graded School and was a 1946 graduate of Rib Lake High School. He was employed by the Harvey Co. as an auto nailer for over 37 years.


He enjoyed playing dartball and cards, and gardening.


Survivors include two brothers, Elmer (Elsie) and Arthur (Marlene), both of Rib Lake; three sisters, Emma Ziembo, Edna Rezutek and Betty Quednow, all of Rib Lake; a sister-in-law, Angela Gerstberger of Milwaukee; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Otto; four sisters, Ella Gerstberger, Marcella (Sam) Daubert, Esther (Bill) Kluckman, Alice (Anton) Ziembo; and three brothers-in-law, Phillip Ziembo, Julius Rezutek and Tony Quednow.
