Sorensen, Janet A. (September 18, 1940 - January 18, 2010)

 

Janet A. Sorensen, 69, Minocqua, died Monday, Jan. 18. A memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua.

 

The former Janet Neuendorf was born September 18, 1940 in Medford to the late Edward and Mildred (Raster) Neuendorf.

 

She graduated from Medford High School in 1958 and received her Bachelor of Education degree from the Wisconsin State College at Whitewater in 1962, with majors in business education and English. She taught for a year at Hartland High School and for many years at Madison Business College.

 

On May 3, 1970, she married Jack Sorensen, who preceded her in death.

 

They moved from Verona to Minocqua in 1974. She was employed with Yeschek Law office as a legal assistant until the death of Bill Yeschek, then continued working for the Yeschek Trust.

 

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, wildlife and the northwoods.

 

Survivors include two brothers, Allen (Pamela) of Hudson and David (Sandra) of Lomira; a sister-in-law, Margot Neuendorf of Melbourne, Fla.; a nephew, Mark (Pamela) Neuendorf of Shelton, Conn.; and grand-nephews, Alexander and Michael.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.

 

Bolger Funeral Service of Minocqua assisted the family with arrangements.
