Marion, Edward J. (22 Mar. 1908 – 23 May 2003)

Edward J. Marion, 95, Route 1, Mellen, passed away Friday, May 23, 2003, at Shiloh Suites, 618 22nd Ave. West, Ashland, where he had been living since May 10. Ed was born March 22, 1908, in Stetsonville, Wis., the son of Henry and Lillian (Benoit) Marion.

On April 28,1934, he was united in marriage to Louise M. Ferrando at Kenosha. He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad on the bridges and building crew for over 25 years, retiring in 1979. He enjoyed doing latch hook and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Railroad Maintenance of Way Employees Local.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Louise, of Ashland; one daughter, Margaret A. (John, Sr.) White of Marshfield; four grandchildren, Joseph (Mary), Mike (Christine), John, Jr. (Pam) White and Ann (Joe) Browne; three great-grandchildren, Shannon and Cameron White and Seth Browne; one brother, Wilfred Marion of Kenosha; one sister, Evelyn Truskowski of Kenosha; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leon and Raymond; one sister, Sister Mary Victoria Marion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mellen, with Father Jozef Barszcz as celebrant.

Interment will take place in Mellen Union Cemetery, Mellen.

Visitation win be from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain Funeral Home in Mellen.
