Royce, Irene May (November 25, 1927 - November 2, 2009)
 
Irene May Royce, 81, Glen Flora, died Monday, Nov. 2 at Sacred Heart
Hospital in Eau Claire.
 
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 6 at Glen Flora Lutheran Church,
with Rev. Dwight Hanson officiating. Burial was at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
 
The former Irene Kreuscher was born November 25, 1927 on the family homestead farm in the Town of Hammel to the late Herman and Lena (Homann)
Kreuscher. She graduated from a one room schoolhouse in the Town of Hammel.
 
On June 10, 1950 at her parents' home in the Town of Molitor, she married Albert L. Royce, who preceded her in death on August 9, 2000. They made
their home in Jump River and farmed there for 11 years. She was a homemaker
in Ely, Minn., Milwaukee and for 40 years in Glen Flora. She also worked at
Pine Haven Rest Home until 1991.

 
She was a member of Glen Flora Lutheran Church and participated in the Go
Ahead Homemakers Club, was Sunshine Chairman for WELCA and was also a member of the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed baking, cross-stitching,
quilting, gardening and growing houseplants.

 
Survivors include five children, Shirley (special friend Gary) Luckman, Yvonne (Roger) Grasley and Fred (Tracy), all of Ladysmith, Wayne (Cathy) of Sturgeon Bay, and Marilyn (Dwayne) Huffman of Tony; three sisters, Louise Ogle of Ladysmith, Hilda Dums of Rib Lake and Loretta (Robert) Schoechert of
Wisconsin Rapids; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Junior; a sister, Carol Kreuscher; and two brothers-in-law, Arnold Ogle and Bernard Dums.
 
Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
