Amanda Gerzemehle has tonsillitis since Tuesday.

Grant Morris was quite ill with tonsillitis the first of the week.

Miss Laura Neitzel is in Dubuque, Iowa, two weeks since.

Miss Alma Riedel spent Sunday with relatives at Marshfield.

Mrs. Gottlieb Riedel made an over Sunday visit to her mother at Neillsville.

Fred Hart purchased Mrs. Phil Shaw’s home last Saturday and will take possession next week.

Mr. and Mrs. Phil Shaw who are contemplating taking up their permanent residence in Green Bay are leaving for a visit to her son Clyde Shaw at Still water tomorrow.

Henry Marg will vacate rooms in the late Chas. Beeckler home and move into rooms in the John Bladl place next week.

Miss Grace Bartz is suffering with an abscess in her head since Tuesday.

Chas. Fischer of Owatonna, Minn. is here since last week Thursday visiting at Adolph Schlinsog’s.

Bert Poorman of Alberta, Can. After a several days visit between the Bill Smith and Loyal Jordan home departed on the home trip, Monday.

Aug. Lautenbach and W. Budge transacted business at Neillsville on Tuesday.

E.A. Beeckler and Noble Downer transacted business at Neillsville Saturday.

The Hale Davis family spent Sunday at the Frank Davis home.

Mrs. Webb Winn is on the sick list since the first of the week.

Mrs. G.E. Amidon entertained the Circle, Wednesday.

J.H. Ferris of Beebe’s Corners went to Eau Claire Wednesday.

Elmer Dennis went to Eau Claire Saturday to visit his wife who is ill and at the hospital there.

A.J. Knorr and Fred Hart Transacted business at the county seat last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin who reside at Heathville welcomed the advent of a baby girl in their home last Sunday.

Miss Emma Kimball wail entertain the O.E.S. Birthday Club tomorrow, Sat. afternoon.  All visiting O.E.S. are welcome.

Mrs. Fred Schwerten had a birthday party Sunday.  Just relatives and her closest neighbors were present.

F.E. Gotter, Paul Goebel, Mrs. Henry Lawson, J.B. Daughetee and Mrs. H.E. Williams were at Neillsville, Saturday.

Postmaster J.M. Tompkins joined his wife at Rice Lake Saturday for an over Sunday visit at their son Fred’s and to accompany Mrs. Tompkins home here on Monday.

Miss Clara Drescher visited with friends here Saturday morning.  Miss Laura Gerzemehle accompanied here back to Neillsville that noon.

Mrs. A.W. Beil of Chili came over last Saturday to spend a few days with her mother Mrs. Schlinsog who is since last week Wednesday suffering with a broken leg.

Henry Morressey of Edgerton visited his sister Mrs. Rush Wentworth here Wednesday and Thursday.

Mrs. Gorbe after a week’s visit at Rev. Reiff’s went home to Wausau late last week.

Will Dahl of Wheeler came last Friday and remained until Tuesday a guest at Chas. Lowery home.  Mr. Dahl is premeditating buying a cheese factory in this vicinity.

Chas. Neinas transacted business at Neillsville Wednesday and chaperoned the R.N.A. delegation of ladies going over.

Mrs. Ed Jacobson and daughter Genevieve were over from Neillsville and visited Mrs. D.S. Rausch Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lem Curtis with their three youngest children went to Richland Center Wednesday to spend a week among relatives and see a sister of his, who is sick.

Roy Hart and Frank Wood spent Saturday and Sunday with Prof. G.D. Vincent of Edgar.  They also assisted the Edgar Band to play for a dance at Rib Falls Saturday night.

Mrs. Mary J. Huff received a telegram Monday to the effect that J.P. Birtch, her late son-in-law had died last Sunday in the city hotel in Babcock.

Mr. and Mrs. John Nonhof and baby going through here late last week stopped off and visited his brother Al Nonhof and family and the E.R. Wonser family, continuing on toward their home in Minnesota, Sunday.

Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog through a fall upon her porch last week Wednesday suffered a broken leg, a most unfortunate accident for a lady of her years.

Mr. Pizer and Mr. Isnogle after visiting the Chas. Schaffner, Bill Smith and Jap Spry families left on the return trip to Richland Center, last Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Schafer with master Donald McNamara and the little 5 year old son of a deceased niece of theirs, after a couple months visit among relatives and old friends in Shortville went home to Marshfield, Monday.

George Norris, Jab Spry, Wm. Boske and Mr. and Mrs. Hale Davis were Neillsville visitors Monday.

The Windfall Birthday Club with their baskets of goodies enjoyed Tuesday in attending Mrs. Price Lee’s birthday where quilt making found ready employment for the nimble fingers of willing hands.

Mr. and Mrs. Moreland of California are here since Tuesday visiting between the Gus Beilke and Wm. Wischuelke homes.  Mrs. Moreland is a daughter of Mrs. Hankey and a sister to the Mesdames Beilke and Wisehuelke.

Ed Waterman has so far recovered from his recent wrestle with pneumonia as to be up and about the house since last week and to have aided somewhat in the care of his little 5 year old daughter who is just recovering from a very severe attack of the dread disease.

Geo. Hart took possession of his recent purchased home over the old drug store building last week and his son-in-law Leland Davis moved into some of the rooms on the main floor of the house vacated by him.  Joe Felser and family moved into the upper rooms which were vacated by Leland.

A sleigh load consisting of the W.J. Thayer, W.S. Davis and F.J. Baer families joined by the Geo. Wilson and Frank Potter families spent Thursday evening of last week at the C.E. Reed home where with their genial hospitality cards and a good eat the evening went all too quickly and it was not until after 2 a.m. we reached hom on Friday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. John Trimberger with the aid of a house full of close friends celebrated their 20^th wedding anniversary in a most becoming manner Sunday.  A very enjoyable and long to be remembered pleasurable event was for all in attendance.

Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter and son Stanley are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. Churchill in Milwaukee since last Saturday.  Mrs. Kemmeter is buying here spring millinery goods on this trip and will probably be absent a couple of weeks.

A large number of farmers here about met together on Monday here at the opera house and after listening to speakers J.H. Carnahan of Black River Falls and Ben Lang of Marshfield decided to organize a branch of the American Society of Equity.  Twenty three of those present gave their names to the enterprise.  They will meet Saturday (tomorrow) here to elect officers and complete the organization.

Dr. Ross was at Neillsville Tuesday.

Mr. Webb Winn is seriously ill since Wednesday.

Mr. Eppling of Neillsville was here on business Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Deila Henze is assisting Mrs. W.D. Rose with her household duties since Tuesday.

Mrs. Jennie Graves entertained a goodly number of friends yesterday, Thursday at a quilting.

Mr. Lindenthaler of Fall Creek is visiting his daughter Mrs. Ben Joern since Tuesday.

Prof. Vincent of Edgar was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Davis, Wednesday.

Section Foreman George Fraser made a business trip to Marshfield Wednesday.

Miss Ruby Winn is ill and quarantined with small pox at an isolated hospital in Milwaukee since Monday.

John Hiles was here from Wausau Wednesday.

The state inspector of the graded schools and the County Supt. Of Schools visited our school Wednesday.

Mrs. R.E. Lawrence and daughter Della spent Wednesday morning at Marshfield.

The Misses Lena and Laura Riedel spent much of last week here engaged with dress making in the A.J. Knorr, W.D. Rose and Jas. Finnegan homes.

Mrs. Leland Davis and daughter Minerva came home Tuesday from a 5 days visit at the Chas. Chapel home in Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hart have been frequent visitors at the Chas. Chapel home in Marshfield the past two weeks owing to the fact that their daughter Mrs. Chapel was on the sick list.

Mrs. Attela Leatherdale and son Bert autoed down from Loyal in their new Overland car Wednesday and spent the afternoon with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilding went to Marshfield Wednesday where Mrs. Wilding entered St. Joseph’s Hospital for an operation for relief from appendicitis.

Mrs. Herman Thiede and son Avait, Mrs. Gus Bergeman and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Breitenbach with their children were Neillsville visitors Wednesday.

The Clark County Bankers meet in convention at Neillsville this Thursday evening to organize or form an association of Bankers.  The three Neillsville banks will furnish the feed tonight and banquet their guests at the Hotel Hamilton.

Andrew Mason of Pittsville accompanied by Miss Cora Seldon of Dexterville arrived here Tuesday morning and accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Mott Osgood of this place drove to Neillsville that afternoon and were by Judge O.W. Schoengarth made man and wife.  The groom a brother of Mrs. Mott Osgood is comparatively well known here and it is with much pleasure his old friends meet him at this time.  They expect to leave for Grand Rapids Sunday and after a short visit return to Pittsville to take up their residence.

Mrs. W.H. Foote with her little niece Alice and nephew Ellis Foote after an extended visit here about, departed Monday morning on the return trip to Langford, S.D.  After getting off at Merrillan Junction where they changed cars, four year old Master Ellis knowing they were to continue on another train and without consulting his aunt got aboard the first outgoing train there, which happened to be on the Green Bay road and was off before Mrs. Foote had missed him. A telegram to the conductor on this train as it reached Alma Center brought to him this first knowledge the he had a run away boy with him.  The child was returned to Merrillan that afternoon in time for Mrs. Foote with her little charges to continue on the early evening train for her destination in Dakota.

Golden Link Camp of the R.N.A. at Neillsville invited the Greenwood, York Center, Chili, Granton and Merrillan camps to meet with them Wednesday for an all afternoon and evening session.  The Granton camp was represented by the Mesdames W.J. Thayer, We. Davis, Jas. Finnegan, Hugh Berg, Ara, Ernest and T.F. Lee; Fred Zwick, Guy Winn, Ed Schroeder, W.D. Rose, A.J. Knorr, P.M. Ross, and Eugene Crandall.  The Chili members residing here, Mrs. Frank Davis and Mrs. James Tremmelling were with them.  A goodly representation from Chili and each of the other invited camps was reported to have been in attendance and an unusually interesting, pleasant, and instructive convention held.
