------Schilling, William (1 JUN 1873 – 25 DEC 1963)

William Schilling, 90, a lifelong Colby resident, died Christmas day, Dec. 25, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, with the Rev. John Pinion officiating.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers for the interment were three grandsons, Vernon Schilling of Milladore, Vernon Seigel of Mayville and Thomas Fahy of Milwaukee and Elroy Kops, Marshfield, Ray Stoiber, Milwaukee and John Fitzsimmons, Milwaukee.

Arrangements were made by the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mr. Schilling was born June 1, 1873.  He spent most of his life in Colby, except for the past six months when he made his home with a son, Vernon Schilling, at Milladore.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic parish and the congregation’s Holy Name Society.

Surviving are two sons, Vernon of Milladore and William of Stratford; and five daughters, Mrs. Wilter (Adeline) Seigel, Mrs. Joseph (Leone) Kurtz, Clearwaterbeach, Fla., Mrs. George (Aurelia) Kuhrt, Milwaukee, Mrs. Dorothy Fahy of Milwaukee, and Sister Mary Ervin, West Allis.

There are 12 grand children and 12 great grand children.  Two brothers, John of California and Art of Oregon, and four sisters, Ida of Milwaukee, Viola of Florida, Flora of Virginia, and Hattie of Michigan, also survive.

He is preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1959, and three sons.

Guests attending the funeral came from Florida, Milwaukee, West Allis, Milladore, Marshfield, Colby and the surrounding area.
