Samstad, Alma Louise (21 January 1902 - 1 February 1968)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Minnehaha Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minn., for Mrs. Alma Louise Samstad, 66, of Minneapolis, Minn., mother of Mrs. Kenneth Van Dam of Neillsville. She died Thursday in Neillsville. Burial was made in Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Mrs. Samstad was born January 21, 1902, in Glenwood, Minn., and attended schools in Brooten, Minn. She was married November 1, 1924, to Neal Samstad, who died in 1950. They lived on a farm, and Mrs. Samstad also did clerical work in Dayton’s department store in Minneapolis until illness caused her to retire.

Mrs. Samstad is survived by Mrs. Kenneth Van Dam; two sisters, Mrs. Algot (Irene) Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Sylvester (Cora) Bruchs of Robinsdale, Minn.; three brothers, Tilfred Ugdahl, Edmond and Moreen Thoreson, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; and by three grandchildren.
