Ketel, John Charles Christof
(3 OCT 1809 - 21 DEC 1895)
John Charles Christof Ketel died at the home
of his son, William Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 1895, at the age of
86 years, 2 months and 18 days.
John came to America from Germany in 1870, and lived in Kewaunee
County 6 years, when he moved to Neillsville, Clark County, where
he has since resided with his sons William, August and Herman
Ketel.
He was a good, honest old gentleman, scarcely able to speak
English, but had a great many American acquaintances and friends in
this country, all of whom will regret to learn of his death.
The funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church Monday and the
remains interred in the city cemetery.
