Hoffman, Cora. ( - 7 JAN 1890)

Mrs. E. L. Hoffman died at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), last Tuesday evening, near the hour of eight o'clock. Mrs. Hoffman was better known to Neillsville people as Miss Cora Crossett. She had lived here since early childhood, making her home with Mrs. B.F. French, her aunt, since the death of her mother many years ago. She was married to Mr. E. L. Hoffman, the well known newspaper man, on Oct. 18th last. Thus after a short married life so full of promise for her future happiness, death came quickly to rob the husband of a true companion. Her death had been expected by her friends for several days, and many had called to say a last sad farewell.

For several years Mrs. Hoffman was engaged in the millinery business, where her large custom not only testified to the skillfulness of her calling, but also to the esteem in which she was held by the ladies for her true womanhood and goodness of heart.

The remains were taken to Black River Falls on the 11:30 train yesterday, where they were laid at rest in the Hoffman family lot in the cemetery. Her husband has the sympathy of the community in his hour of affliction.
