Suda, Vandy (18 AUG 1904 - 13 JAN 1984)


Funeral services for Vandy Suda, 79, of 943 Delany, Gurnee, Ill., were at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 1984, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood.

Mr. Suda died at his home at about 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13, 1984.

Rev. Michael Mertens officiated at the service and interment was in the parish cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were his four sons and two grandsons. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Vandy Suda was born on Aug. 18, 1904, at Richland Center. He received his education at a Richland Center School.

He moved to Greenwood as a young man and was a cheesemaker and farmer in the Town of Reseburg until 1952, when he retired and moved to Marshfield. They moved to Gurnee, Ill. in 1957, where they have resided since.

He married Mary Celesnik on Nov. 3, 1927, at Willard.

Survivors include his wife four sons, Theodore of Thorp, Laurence of Greenwood, and James and George of Gurnee, Ill. three brothers, Joseph of Antioch, Ill., Anthony of Greenwood and Louis of Deer Lodge, Mont. two sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Agnes) Bargander of Loyal and Mrs. Charles (Madiline) Perko of Lac du Flambeau 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two daughters, Diane in 1970 and Sylvia in 1928.
