Boe, Carl W. (1905 - 1982)


Carl W. Boe, 77, of 163 Main St. , Randolph, N.Y., died Oct. 13, 1982, in Salamanca District Hospital.

He was born on March 8, 1905, in Greenwood, Clark County, the son of Henry and Radina (nee Erickson) Boe.

He moved to Randolph in 1926, and was a retired crane operator at Jamestown Malleable Iron Corp.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Randolph American Legion Post No. 181, Disabled American Veterans of Buffalo and the Salamanca Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Surviving are his wife, Florence H. Boe two brothers, Joseph Boe of Spencer and Amos Boe of Greenwood and five sisters, Agnes Vamstad of Denver, Col., Amanda Jorenby of Randolph, Julia Ormond of Kennedy, Hazel Thompson of Thorp and Thea Boe of Glendale, Cal. He was preceded in death by a son, Devere Johnston.

The funeral was at 2 p.m., Thursday at Hoitink Funeral Home, Randolph. The Rev. Lawrence Lundgren of Alexander, N.Y., officiated. Burial was in Randolph Cemetery.

Visitations were from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Emergency Rescue Squad of Randolph Fire Company.
