John Snedic in 1937

 

John Snedic belonged to the prestigious Greenwood Commercial Club and was on the committee for the Banquet held in honor of the unveiling of the Peace Monument given to the city by Ernest Durig in 1937.  He was also one of the area residents who had a bust made by the artist.  He was born Dec. 28, 1879.

 

The former Mary Krnicar was born Jan. 9, 1886 in Yugoslavia, and came to the United States in 1907. She had been a resident of Willard since 1914.  Her marriage on Sept. 30, 1907, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Joliet, Ill., was to John Snedic, who preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1941.
