Andrew D. & Alvira L. Jones

 

Andrew D. Jones and his wife, Alvira L. farming in Hewett Township, Clark County, Wisconsin when the 1880 Federal Census was taken.  At that time, Andrew was thirty-two years old (b. 1848).  His father was a native of Canada and his mother was born in Ireland. Alvira was twenty-eight (b. 1852) and taking care of the household duties. Her parents were both born in New York.

 

By that year, Andrew and Alvira also had three children, John who was nine years old (1871), Hannah who was six (b. 1874) and Alelen, a son who was four (1876).  The two oldest children had been born while they lived in Minnesota, but the youngest son was born in Wisconsin as were both parents.

 

Notes

 

A.D. Jones purchased lot C-18 in the Neillsville Cemetery 10/25/1879.  There were no burials there while Mr. Jones owned it and the entire lot was transferred or sold (not sure which) to Eugene & Laura Moffatt 4/8/1922.  There Moffatts buried there today are:
