The Family of Frederick and Christina Rossman

Frederick Rossman was born in Schlesburg-Holstein, Germany, Dec. 11, 1842. At the age of seven he, with his parents, came to America, making New Holstein, Wis. they home. On Sept. 5, 1864 he enlisted into the service of his country, enlisting from Calumet Co. at Camp Randall near Madison, Wis., as a private of Co. H., later D, 9th regiment of Wisconsin volunteer infantry. After returning to his home he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Christina Weihler on Jan. 9, 1867, the golden wedding having been duly observed last January. To this happy union ten children were born, five sons and five daughters, all of whom survive the father except one son who died in infancy. They resided for some years near Loyal, Clark County, Wis., later removing to Thorp.
