Chandler, C. L. (Silver Anniversary - OCT 1889)

The silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Chandler of this city (Neillsville, Clark County), was celebrated at their new residence on Wednesday evening, Oct. 23, 1889. A good number of guests were present, among which was a sister, Mrs. Schofield of Greenwood, and a brother, Mr. Wm. Burt of Neillsville. The supper was well prepared and keenly relished. Music was furnished by Mrs. Schofield and daughter, and by Miss Burt, while the whole company joined in song after song. Mr. Wm. Burt and daughter sang the identical song which was sung in the old home in New York just 25 years ago. Rev. W. T. Hendren officiated as best he could in a speech that was full of fun from beginning to end. One thing alone was wanting to complete the joy of the occasion, which was the unavoidable absence of all the children. But all who were present will remember the occasion as one of the most pleasant of their lives.
