Cole, Myrtle (12 OCT 1917)

On Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Oct. 12th, 1917, a quiet wedding took place at the residence of Rev. Coleman at Neillsville, when Miss Myrtle Cole was united in marriage with Mr. Perry M. Thayer. The bridal pair was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Thiede, brother-in-law and sister to the groom, newlyweds, married three hours earlier. The bride was dressed ina traveling suit of blue and carried a beautiful arm bouquet of bridal roses. Mrs. Thiede wore a traveling suit of green, while the gentlemen appeared in the usual black. The bride, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cole of this village, grew to womanhood here, graduated from our school and likewise from the Neillsville High School, a student at Stevens Point Normal one year and a successful teacher here since. Her quick intelligence, winsome manners, and very evident worth have made her hosts of friends.. The groom, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Thayer of this village is a young man of excellent character and is associated with his father here in the hardware business where his strict attention to his duties has won him a good position. The young couple begin life with very fair prospects and with the heartiest good wishes from very many friends. For the present they will live with his parents, only taking up housekeeping by themselves when their new home, the rooms over the new store can be completed. The happy pair left for La Crosse Friday evening on their wedding trip and returned on Sunday night's midnight train. The bride, who is teaching at Lynn, will continue with her school work there until the holidays, at least.
