Schoengrund, Arthur (07 OCT 1887 – 09 APR 1963)


Funeral services for Arthur Schoengrund, 75, Loyal, who died Thursday evening in an Owen hospital, were held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Myre Funeral Home. Rev. Alden Moldenhauer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.


Mr. Schoengrund contacted pneumonia early in March and had been a patient in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, until Thursday morning when he was admitted to then Clark County Hospital.


Pallbearers were Harold Hills, Edward Rohloff, Art Schuette, John Olsen, Julius Ehlert and Harold Johnson.


Mrs. Verland Dux and Mrs. Erwin Dux sang “Old Rugged Cross: and “Asleep in Jesus”. Organist was Mrs. A.M. Moldenhauer.


Mr. Schoengrund was born October 7, 1887 at Lomira and was married to Helena Boettcher on October 7, 1915 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. After their marriage they farmed in the town of Unity until 1946 when they retired and moved to the city of Loyal. Mrs. Schoengrund died in March of 1961. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.


Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Evelyn) Ertl, Spencer and Mrs. John (Marcella) Reynolds, Menomonie Falls; four grandchildren; a brother Carl Schoengrund, Delavan; a sister, Mrs. Emilie Jenni, Spencer. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers.


Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ertl and family, Mrs. Emilie Jenni, Dennis Huber, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. John Reynolds, Jr., Menomonie Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Meierhafer, Fremont; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Franz, Marshfield; and Alfred and Minnie Boettcher, Loyal.

Schoenfrund, Arthur (7 October 1887-11 April 1963)
