Sam Martin had the misfortune of losing a cow.

Eva Canfield and family were Sunday guests at Wm. Zorn’s.

Robert Graham is going to move to Loyal and has rented his farm to his son John.

Walter Drake has rented his father’s farm and will move his family down from Maplehurst some time this month.

The new furnace was installed in H. A. Knoll’s house last week.

Willie Dankemyer came home from the Marshfield hospital last Saturday. He [is] still somewhat weak but is on the road to recovery.

Mr. Hadden of Janesville, the new owner of the Frank Davis farm will be here some time this week with his household goods and stock. His wife will be here later.

Clara Davis had a slight attack of pneumonia Sunday. Dr. Ross was called to attend her.

If there is a man in this corner of the globe who has more than his share of hard luck, it is John Vanderwyst, a farmer near Chili. In the past two years he has lost not less than 9 head of cows and horses. The animals seem to die without warning in every instance. Discouraged over his misfortunes he has decided to sell at auction all that is left and will move back to the southern part of the state from whence he came about 8 years ago.

August Dankemyer returned last Monday from Plano, Ill., where he has been investigating the plant of the Independent Harvester Co., for which concern stock is being sold to farmers hereabout. Mr. Dankemyer was well pleased with the prospects there and he is glad to tell all he knows about it to anyone interested in the proposition.
