Krueger, Arnold L. (20 MAR 1919 - 6 NOV 2012)

Arnold L. Krueger, 93, of Colby, died November 6, 2012, at Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Abbotsford.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, with Reverend Mark Neumann officiating. Burial will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Eric Krueger, Rhett Krueger, Ross Krueger, Nate Krueger, Glen Schraufnagel, Galen Schraufnagel, Kyle Krueger, Brandon Mueller, Jacob Mueller and Calvin Krueger.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Arnold was born March 20, 1919, in Curtiss to Otto and Louise (Strade) Krueger. He was united in marriage to Lois Anita Huhn on April 18, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Arnold was a cheesemaker before he entered the US Army Air Force in 1942 obtaining the rank of PFC and being honorably discharged in 1946. He came home to continue cheesemaking, later buying the father-in-law’s farm and farming in the Town of Hull, Marathon County, retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his children; Russ (Essie) Krueger, Gene (Roberta) Krueger, Lyle Krueger, Roger Krueger, Faye (Terry) Schraufnagel, Allen (Mary) Krueger, Lori (Jeff) Mueller and George (Donna) Krueger. 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois on September 6, 2008; parents; sisters, Erma Weller and Leona Baumgartner; brothers, Art, Laurence and Walter Krueger; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Becker-Krueger.

Arnold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby Lions Club and the Colby American Legion.
