Before their marriage Saturday, June 15, 1963, the bride was the former Shirley Farning, daughter of Mr.a nd Mrs. Henry Farning of Abbotsford. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Crook of Wis. Rapids.

Marriage vows were exchanged in Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, in a 4 o'clock ceremony pferformed by the Rev. F.H. Sprengler before the altar adorned with carnations and peonies. Miss Dorothy Kieser was the organist.

For her wedding the bride chose a white ballerina sheath of pure silk over taffeta, with an overskirt shirred at the waist and trimmed with a bow at the front. A pill box crown of pearls and crystals secured her fingertip veil of import English illusion. Red carnations and white stephanotis were combined in the bridal bouquet.

Mrs. John Mallow of St. Louis, Mo., a sister of the groom, served as matron of honor, and Miss Evelyn Hill of Wis. Rapids was bridesmaid. They were attired alike in street length blue sheaths with white organdy overskirts. They carried variegated carnations fashioned to look as one large carnations.

Lee Kauth and Roger Nieman, both of Wis. Rapids, were the best man and groomsman.

The wedding party and immediate families were served dinner at the Casa Grande and in the evening the new Mr. and Mrs. Crook greeted friends at a gathering held at the 13 & 29 Club.

The bride was on the teaching staff of the Wis. Rapids School before her marriage. The groom is a civil engineer employed with the Wis. State Highway Dept.
