Wicker, William (21 NOV 1896 - 23 MAR 1963)

Funeral services for William Wicker, 66, Colby, who died Saturday, March 23, 1963, at Wood Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wis., were held Wednesday afternoon, March 27 at 2 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby.

The Rev. Ralph Koelemay officiated at the services and at the interment made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

William Vernon Wicker was born at March Rapids in Marathon County Nov. 21, 1896. He received his education in Medford schools, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He was married tot eh former Martha Gasch on June 9, 1923, and spent most of his life in Ohio, where he worked on the docks. He spent the last five years at Colby.

Mr. Wicker is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Varona) Tyler of Conneaut, Ohio; five grandchildren; three brothers, Dr. Harold Wicker of Stratford, Kenneth Wicker of Marathon, Fla., and Elmer Wicker of Colby; and three sisters, Mrs. Marion Erickson of Clyman, Wis., Mrs. Mildred Robertson of Colby and Evelyn Wicker of Colby.
