Philpott, Ella (17 April 1887- ? Feb 1961)

Rev. Paul Doering officiated at the funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Ralph (Ella) Philpott, who died at her home Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock. She was 74 years old and had been in ill health since June 5 of last year when she had been injured in an automobile accident. Since then she had been hospitalized almost continuously. Funeral arrangements were made by the Myre Funeral Home.

Services were conducted at the Myre Funeral Home and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mrs. G. W. Nelson and Mrs. Paul Doering sang, “Under His Wings” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. They were accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

Pallbearers were Archie Smith, Floyd Smith, Dan Bucholtz, George Walter, Del Anderson and Bill Fohrman.

The former Ella Litka was born on April 17, 1886 in the town of Loyal and was married to Ralph Philpott on December 18, 1907 at her home. The couple spent the first 4 ½ years of marriage on a farm near Tomahawk and then moved to a farm one mile east of Loyal where they lived for 29 years. In 1942 they moved to the city of Loyal where she has resided until her death. She was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church. Her husband died on April 11, 1949.

Mrs. Philpott is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Pickruhn, Loyal; Mrs. Earl (Anna) Stowe, Loyal; Mrs. Andrew (Amelia) Lydiksen,Riplinger and by twelve nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
