Schuette, Florence Louise (Neuhaus) (8 DEC 1925 - 30 JUL 2012)

Florence Louise Schuette, 86, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, left her earthly home to go to her heavenly home on July 30, 2012.

Florence will be greatly missed by her family and friends. All will miss the conversations regarding the family histories and stories from the past.

Florence was born in the Town of Mayville in Clark County to the late Charles F. and Alvina Miller (Neuhaus) on December 8, 1925. She attended Abbotsford High School graduating in 1943.

Florence married Merlin K. Schuette on June 8, 1946. He survives. After her marriage, she farmed with her husband in the Town of Beaver in Clark County until they moved to Abbotsford in 1959. While living in Abbotsford, she worked as a waitress at Abby Café and Medo Farms.

In 1968, they moved to Marshfield where she resided until her death. Florence worked in food services at the Marshfield Public Schools until her retirement in 1987. Her major interest other than family and friends was genealogy. She was involved with the local genealogy group and compiled extensive books on her immediate and extended families. Florence was an avid reader.

Florence is survived by her husband of 66 years, Merlin Schuette. In addition, daughter Shirley (Jim) Kislow of Rothschild, grandson Garrett (Christina) Kislow and great grandchildren, Megan Salisbury, Paige, Dawson and Dallas Kislow; son Charles Schuette of Fond du Lac; daughter Lorilei (Tom) Nohelty of Madison, previously of Rothschild, grandsons Matthew (Kelly) Nohelty and Eric Nohelty and great granddaughter Ava Miller; daughter Joyce (Scott) Budke of Green Bay, granddaughter MaCall (Tyler) Lankford and grandson Ben Budke; brother-in-law Orville (Kathryn) Schuette and sister-in-law Arlene (Calvin) Schulz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Schuette; her sister Alice and husband Willard Becherer; sister-in-law Evelyn and husband Paul Schlinsog and sister-in-law Ethel and husband Francis Gerber and a niece and nephew.

A celebration of Florence’s life will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Chris Schwanz of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of the service. A reception will follow the services, prior to burial at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church (South Green Grove) with Pastor Donn Radde officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or their school.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ministry Home Care Hospice Services for assisting in Florence’s care.
