Beckman, Mary (19 NOV 1888 - 17 JUL 1962)
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Olson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the city of Thorp at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, July 20th for Mrs. Mary Beckman, who died at the hospital at Stanley, Wis., on Tuesday, July 17, 1962 of a heart ailment. She was 73 years of age.
Mary Pingel was born in Sheboygan, Wis., on Nov. 19, 1888. She was united in marriage to Otto Beckman on Dec. 19, 1913 at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). They operated a farm in the Town of Worden for many years and upon retirement several years ago, moved to the City of Thorp. Mr. Beckman passed away in 1959 and Mrs. Beckman returned to live in Worden until the time of her death.
She is survived by two sons, Arnold Beckman of Thorp, and Lawrence Beckman of Milwaukee; five daughters, Irene, Mrs. Norbert Wehrmann, Hoard’s Grove, Meta, Mrs. Roscoe Butterfield, Hayward, Wis., Margaret, Mrs. Ed Baueres, Thorp, Hilda, Mrs. Joe Ricci, Bedford, Mass., and Lena, Mrs. Arbor Drinkwine, Columbus, N.D., two sisters, Miss Martha Pingel, Middletown, Oho and Mrs. Gilbert Hardy of Withee, Wis.
She was laid to rest in the Sylvan Cemetery in the Town of Reseburg. Pallbearers were Roscoe Butterfield Jr., Wm. Wehrmann, Joel Beckman, Charles Frinack Jr., Galen Misfeldt and Dean Hubbard.
